Winners in Their Class
Following their performances at the Salisbury Festival earlier in the spring, three Prep School soloists have returned to play at the finalists’ concert this month. To cap their success, all three won their class and so congratulations go to George Hewett (voice and saxophone), Stacey Newlin (bassoon) and Tom Highnam (marimba) who performed a repertoire which gained them premier position at this year’s Speech and Drama Festival.
With barely time to savour their triumph, these three musicians along with Jack Blakey, and Monica Budzynski, went on to perform an outstanding recital, featuring a difficult classical and jazz repertoire, to a delighted audience back at the Prep School.
