Joshua is a Step Closer to the National Stage
A career in the theatre has come a step closer for budding actor, Joshua Cheung as he has just heard he has been accepted as a member of the National Youth Theatre.
14 year old Joshua has long held a burning ambition to become an actor and so amidst his various appearances on the Clayesmore stage – he recently played the role of Seymour Krelbourne in Little Shop of Horrors – Joshua has set his sights on a place with the National Youth Theatre to advance his training.
Each year, over 4000 applicants from all over the UK audition and Joshua had only a one in six chance of being selected. The National Youth Theatre (circa 1956) is now an internationally acclaimed organisation, providing opportunities to all young people aged 13-21 in the UK, regardless of background. It is the premier national provider of innovative theatre projects of the highest quality and provides young people with unparalleled training and experience in the theatrical arts.
Once Joshua has completed a twelve day training course next Easter, he becomes a member of the National Youth Theatre until he is 21 and during that time he is deemed eligible to attend auditions for all their productions and events.
