Senior School School Life The chapel

The chapel

The teachings of the Christian faith lie at the heart of life at Clayesmore. Whilst the school is an Anglican foundation it proud of the way in which welcomes and affirms the faith of those belonging to other Christian denominations as well of those of other faiths as well.

The Chapel (built as a memorial to those Clayesmorians who died in the two world wars) helps make this faith real and visible for both staff and pupils. The whole school worships together every Wednesday; Years 9, 10 and 11 meet on Thursday mornings with the service led by a different tutor group each week and the Sixth Form have their own service on Friday mornings. Each Sunday all those who are in school on a Saturday night are expected to attend a more formal service of Morning Prayer.

In addition there are a number of Christian groups who meet regularly and each year the Chaplain offers a series of classes to all those interested in exploring more deeply what it means to be a Christian today; this culminates in all those who so wish confirming their faith in a diocesan confirmation service in Salisbury Cathedral led by all three bishops.
